Halloween; I know I’m late

Hi everyone and happy belated Halloween

Yes, I did go out trick or treating on Halloween.  I wasn’t too sure what the big deal was or why I was getting into this green outfit.  However, I enjoyed visiting everyone in the neighborhood.  They all gave me candy which I don’t really eat…  However, what was too cool was getting to visit everyone.   We rang the door bell and when they opened the door I just walked right into their house and made myself at home.   The expressions on their faces was priceless.
Oh, and I do like being told how cute I am over and over and over…  LOL

New Years Day, 2009

Good afternoon to all and a Very Happy & Prosperous New Year.

I hope everyone enjoyed whatever it was you did for New Years Eve last night.   Mom, Grandma, and Grandpa stayed home and watched movies on TV.   For me, I tried to go to bed on 8:00 PM as usual.  Big mistake on New Years Eve.  It seems that in the area we live, there is a tradition of fire off fireworks to usher in the New Year.   It sound like it might be fun.  However, when you’re 14 months old and trying to sleep it is not fun at all.    It seems they start practicing at 10:00 PM and woke me… or rather scared me awake.  Fireworks are something new to me and I’m not all that crazy about loud sudden noises anyway.    Then at Midnight they went crazy.   My Grandpa said one of the neighbors little fireworks display would have rivaled a small town.    Eventually, I calmed down and went back to sleep.   Then at 1:30 AM this morning, they started up again.  I guess someone found a few more fireworks they forgot to set off.    For me, fireworks are no fun at all.

Editorial note: Fireworks are illegal in the City of Houston.  However, since Houston annexed Kingwood in 1996 (at the displeasure of most Kingwood residents), we have never seen a policeman or patrol car on New Years Eve or Independence Day (4th of July) in our area.  It’s very surprising considering fireworks are illegal (a misdemeanor carrying a $426 fine) and the displays put on the the neighborhoods are not only blatant, they are huge… right down the the bottle rockets (the part that makes Grandpa nervous) and roman candles.

I did help Grandma take down the outside Christmas decorations today  (well, I sat in my stroller and watched).   I love being outside.   I always sleep really well after 30 minutes or so breathing the fresh cool winter air.   I was also introduced to Hostess Powdered Sugar Donettes this morning thanks to Grandpa.   They were great.  I had powder sugar everyplace.  After the mess I made this morning, I’ll bet tonight is going to be a bath night… another on of my favorite things to do.

It looks like spaghetti for dinner tonight so I’m going to stop for now so I can take a quick nap.
